Eye for an Eye: Georgia’s Sheriff To Seek Death Penalty For Jamaican Who Murdered His Wife!

Atlanta, GA – Sheriff Victor Hill has announced that Clayton County will be asking the judiciary to consider the death penalty for Jermaine Jones, who murdered his wife last on the night of September 27.

Jones, 30, is accused of brutally stabbing and partially decapitating his 47-year-old wife, Opal Fern Christian-Jones at their home in Springview Drive, Forest Park, Clayton, Georgia. Authorities report that Jones called 911 from Holiday Blvd reporting the crime.

Police Officers and Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Holiday Blvd and took Jones into custody without incident. Jones was subsequently denied bail when he appeared in court on Friday and is being held at the Clayton County Jail awaiting trial.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 11, 2018.
